Chelsea remain in the race to sign West Ham United forward Mohammed Kudus this summer, despite already spending over £100million on attacking reinforcements in Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, according to Daily Mail.
The Blues have secured deals worth £55million each for Pedro and Gittens from Brighton and Borussia Dortmund respectively, and also finalised a £30million move for striker Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. However, that hasn’t deterred their interest in Kudus, who remains high on the club’s radar.
Kudus, 24, has a release clause of £85million for Premier League clubs and £125million for Saudi Arabian sides, although West Ham are reportedly open to negotiating a lower fee to help fund their own summer business.
Sources close to the situation suggest Chelsea would likely need to offload players before pursuing a formal bid for Kudus. Nevertheless, their interest in the versatile attacker remains firm.
Chelsea aren’t the only club monitoring the situation. Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Newcastle United are also said to be admirers of Kudus, with competition for his signature expected to intensify in the coming weeks.
With Chelsea continuing their aggressive rebuild under Enzo Maresca, Kudus could be the next big-name target—if the club can make room in both the squad and the budget.
