The FIFA Club World Cup is kicking off soon, and Chelsea have confirmed their full squad for this first of its kind competition.
It was a surprise to many as goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic was left out of the squad, after an impressive loan spell with Strasbourg.
According to The Telegraph, Petrovic was left out of the Chelsea squad for the Club World Cup at his own request.
The Serbian goalkeeper who excelled with Strasbourg wants to be a guaranteed starter at Chelsea, which may not be the case.
As a result, he wants to focus on sorting out his future and finding a new club, which Chelsea have given him the go ahead.
Strasbourg are interested in bringing Petrovic back after an impressive loan spell, with several Premier League clubs also considering a move.
Meanwhile, Chelsea will begin their Club World Cup campaign with a clash against Flamengo on Friday, June 20.
