“I won a lot at Chelsea, it was a beautiful experience” – Player admits after winning nothing at Arsenal

Former Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has looked back fondly on his time at Stamford Bridge after completing a move to Brazilian giants Flamengo.

The 33-year-old, who joined Arsenal in January 2023, failed to win any silverware during his brief stint with the Gunners. However, his five-year spell at Chelsea was filled with success, as he lifted the Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.

Reflecting on his time at Chelsea, Jorginho told Tutto Mercato Web:

“A beautiful experience, which made me grow a lot as a player and as a person. I learned about English culture. The country, the people. I won a lot. It was all very beautiful.”

Jorginho’s comments highlight the stark contrast between his trophy-laden Chelsea career and his short-lived, unfulfilled spell at Arsenal. The Italian international, who was born in Brazil, now returns to his roots in South America hoping to add more silverware with Flamengo.

While his time at Arsenal may not have brought the success fans expected, his legacy at Chelsea remains intact, with his pivotal role in the club’s European triumphs cementing his place in Blues history.
