Chelsea are edging closer to securing the exciting signing of Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens, with personal terms already agreed between the player and the club, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The 20-year-old Englishman is expected to put pen to paper on a seven-year contract with the Blues, should Chelsea and Dortmund come to terms on a transfer fee.

Gittens has been on Chelsea’s radar for months, and the club has now stepped up their pursuit as they prepare for the FIFA Club World Cup.

Chelsea’s opening bid of €35 million was rejected by the German club, but the Blues remain determined to get the deal over the line.

They are currently preparing a second, improved offer that will include performance-based add-ons in a bid to close the gap between the two clubs’ valuations.

Dortmund are holding firm on their €50 million asking price for the winger, despite Gittens having fallen out of favour under head coach Niko Kovac in the second half of the 2024/25 season.

However, with the player pushing for the move and Chelsea showing no signs of backing down, negotiations are expected to intensify in the coming days.

If completed, Gittens would become another young, high-potential addition to Enzo Maresca’s new-look Chelsea squad, joining the likes of Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, and new arrival Liam Delap in a vibrant attacking unit.

With the personal terms agreed and Chelsea keen to finalise the deal before the Club World Cup begins, this could be one of the next major signings to watch at Stamford Bridge.
