One of the major worries for Chelsea in the just concluded season was the goalkeeper department.
The duo of Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen weren’t convincing, with Robert Sanchez posing as the first choice goalkeeper.
It seems Chelsea will visit the market for a top goalkeeper this summer.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have approached AC Milan to sign goalkeeper Mike Maignan.
“Chelsea approach AC Milan to sign Mike Maignan as new goalkeeper,” wrote Romano.
“Mike Maignan has still not signed new contract at the club and Chelsea are now aware of the situation.
“He’s always been high on Chelsea list with clubs in talks, decision up to Milan.”
Maignan is an excellent stopper, which is his main duty as a goalkeeper. However, he is not so good passing from the back. Can he fit in Maresca’s team?
