Jadon Sancho will return to Manchester United from Chelsea at the end of the month, after spending one season on loan at Stamford Bridge.
Sancho joined Chelsea last summer, in a loan deal with an obligation to buy for £25 million. However, Chelsea were unable to agree personal terms with the England winger who will now return to his parent club Manchester United.
Chelsea will pay Man United a penalty fee of £5 million.
According to reporter David Ornstein, an agreement could not be reached over personal terms for the winger’s loan move to become permanent.
Ornstein adds: “Sancho has options in England and elsewhere around Europe, which he is expected to explore before making a decision as to his next step.”
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the main reason an agreement couldn’t be reached was Sancho’s wages.
“Main issue for Jadon Sancho was salary as Chelsea didn’t want to match his current salary at Manchester United,” Romano reported.
“After negotiations, deal off and Sancho back to United from end of June… ready for new move.”
