Nicolas Jackson showed a lot of promise over the course of the season, and an improvement from his debut season at Chelsea.

However, Chelsea are in search of another striker for the 2025-26 season.

Blues legend John Terry, has spoken well of Jackson, but has advised the club to go for a proven striker.

“I think Nico has been really good, firstly,” Terry said on talkSPORT.

“When I watch him play, he’s only one of a handful of strikers in the league that plays on the shoulder. As a defender, that’s a nightmare it opens up space. I like Nico.

“If you are looking at the next step, you need someone proven and who has scored goals in the Premier League.

“Usually that’s an experienced player but the owners are clear, they don’t want to bring in someone of 29, 30 years of age on big money. It’s a different model. I personally feel we need that.”

With Chelsea set to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich, it seems clear that the striker who has scored 12 goals in his only Premier League season does not appear to fit the high standard Terry wants from his beloved club.
