Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks to sign Chelsea attacker Christopher Nkunku, according to fresh reports, as the Frenchman faces an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge.

Nkunku, 27, joined the Blues in a £52 million deal from RB Leipzig in 2023 with high expectations, but his debut season was hampered by a string of injuries, including knee, hip, and hamstring setbacks. Despite regaining fitness this season, the forward has struggled to establish himself under head coach Enzo Maresca, starting just nine Premier League matches.

His limited involvement was highlighted in Chelsea’s Europa Conference League final win over Real Betis, where he remained an unused substitute as Maresca opted to bring on teenage striker Marc Guiu late in the game.

With his role in west London uncertain, interest in Nkunku is heating up once again. According to talkSPORT, Tottenham have made an initial approach for the former Leipzig star, and the player is open to a Premier League switch if it means more game time.

Chelsea reportedly value Nkunku at over £50 million, the same price they paid last summer, and are not expected to let him leave on the cheap. The forward was also a target for Bayern Munich and Arsenal during the January window, and Bayern remain keen, especially after completing the signing of Jonathan Tah this week.

Nkunku is believed to be open to joining either Spurs or Bayern Munich, with both clubs offering him a fresh opportunity to reignite his career after a frustrating year in London.

Chelsea, meanwhile, continue to overhaul their attacking line, having already moved for Ipswich striker Liam Delap and potentially opening the door for further outgoings this summer.
