Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has expressed his delight after watching his former club lift the UEFA Europa Conference League trophy with a 4-1 victory over Real Betis in Wroclaw.
Reacting on Instagram shortly after the final whistle, Drogba wrote: “Another final, another trophy. We’ve won it all, Chelsea.”
The iconic striker, who famously led Chelsea to Champions League glory in 2012, praised the team’s resilience throughout the season: “Proud of the team effort this season despite the critics.”
He also had special words of recognition for the club’s new head coach Enzo Maresca, who capped off his debut campaign in charge with silverware and a return to the Champions League.
“Congrats to Enzo Maresca and his team (staff, players) for such a great end of season. Well deserved Chelsea,” Drogba added.
The victory not only secured Chelsea’s first European trophy since 2021 but also cemented their status as the first club to win all five major UEFA competitions.
