Chelsea are just one step away from making European football history when they face Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League final in Poland on Wednesday night.

Having already secured UEFA Champions League qualification with a final day Premier League win over Nottingham Forest, the Blues head into the final full of confidence.

With a trophy on the line and a chance to complete an unprecedented European sweep, Chelsea are firmly focused on finishing the 2024/25 campaign in style. If they emerge victorious, the West London giants will become the first club ever to win all three major European trophies—the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League.
That’s an achievement that excites even former Blues boss Jose Mourinho, who offered a mixed verdict ahead of the clash while speaking to Sky Sports.

“I think Chelsea is a club that wants to win Champions Leagues, not Conference Leagues. But it is a trophy. To be the only club in the world to get all three is amazing.”
Mourinho’s words reflect Chelsea’s high standards—but also the unique opportunity that lies ahead for Enzo Maresca and his squad.

However, Mourinho was quick to caution against underestimating their Spanish opponents:
“But attention with Betis. I think Betis can compete. They have a team. They have an experienced coach. They have a great mentality, too. I think it’s going to be a good final.”

Indeed, the final presents a fascinating sub-plot: Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca goes head-to-head with his former boss, Manuel Pellegrini, in a meeting of tactical minds. Betis, led by the seasoned Chilean manager, have had an impressive campaign of their own and are not in the final by accident.
Chelsea’s late-season form has been stellar, with the Blues finishing the Premier League season on a high and showing real cohesion and intensity under Maresca’s guidance. The team’s momentum could be the deciding factor.

As Mourinho pointed out, this is a club built for the biggest stages—but even the Conference League final offers a special chance to add to their illustrious history. The players know what’s at stake. The chance to etch their names into the history books and complete a full set of European titles.
One more big performance. One final push. One historic night awaits.
