Moises Caicedo has heaped praise on Chelsea captain Reece James, describing him as not just the best right-back in the club’s history, but also a personal idol.
In a heartwarming tribute, the Ecuadorian midfielder shared how training with James every day has only increased his admiration for the England international.
“I pick Reece because I train with him every day. I see how he trains and how he plays,” Caicedo said. “I also watched him in the Champions League final before I joined Chelsea and he was fantastic. I think he’s been an idol for many people for a long time, including me.”
Reece James, who has endured an injury-hit campaign, has still managed to feature in 26 games this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists. Despite the setbacks, his leadership, talent, and consistency have clearly left a mark on his teammates—especially Caicedo.
For Caicedo, who joined Chelsea in a record-breaking move two summers ago, James isn’t just a captain—he’s a daily inspiration. And with such mutual respect and admiration growing within the squad, Chelsea fans have plenty to be optimistic about heading into next season.
