Chelsea are reportedly stepping up their interest in Crystal Palace sensation Eberechi Eze, with the Blues eyeing a big-money move for the England international this summer.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is keen to reshape Chelsea’s attack ahead of the 2025-26 season, and Eze has emerged as a prime target following his sparkling form for Palace under Oliver Glasner. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Blues have identified Eze as a top candidate to bolster their left-wing options.
Eze, who has dazzled fans with his creativity, flair and goal-scoring ability, is also attracting serious interest from Manchester City. Both Premier League heavyweights are reportedly willing to trigger the 25-year-old’s €70 million release clause during the summer transfer window.
That figure slightly undercuts a previous report from The Daily Mail, which suggested Eze’s clause stood at €80 million. Either way, Chelsea are ready to splash the cash to beat Pep Guardiola’s side to one of the league’s most in-form attackers.
The 2024-25 campaign has seen Eze hit peak form, notching 13 goals and 11 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. Most notably, he scored the match-winning goal in Palace’s shock 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final — a performance that likely intensified interest from both clubs.
Eze’s current deal at Selhurst Park runs until 2027, but the player is reportedly eager to “take a leap forward in his career,” per Fichajes. A move to Stamford Bridge could offer him a starring role in Maresca’s Chelsea side, with the club determined to return to the top of English football.
With Chelsea and City now set for a summer tug-of-war, the battle for Eze’s signature promises to be one of the headline sagas of the transfer window.
Its a good move. The boy has the energy & ability to succeed.
A WORLD CLASS STRIKER is what we need badly. Please, let’s get our priorities right. We already have a lot of Ezes in the team.
