It’s looking increasingly likely that Jadon Sancho’s Chelsea journey could end after just one season. The Manchester United winger, who arrived at Stamford Bridge on a season-long loan, hasn’t quite hit the heights many fans hoped for — and now Turkish giants Galatasaray are reportedly circling.
According to Turkish journalist Arda Ozkurt, Galatasaray are “investigating” Sancho’s situation ahead of the summer transfer window, sensing an opportunity as Chelsea weigh their options. Despite being given ample game time with 39 appearances across all competitions, Sancho has returned just four goals and eight assists. It’s not a terrible return, but it’s hardly the kind of output that justifies triggering the £25 million option to buy.
Inside the Chelsea camp, it’s understood that the club may instead opt to send Sancho back to Manchester United, potentially paying a £5 million compensation fee rather than committing to a long-term deal. It’s a decision that reflects both Sancho’s inconsistent form and Chelsea’s broader squad planning under Enzo Maresca.
Sancho’s parent club, Manchester United, don’t seem eager to welcome him back either, and with his contract running until 2026, a clean break looks likely for all parties involved. A move to Galatasaray might be the fresh start the former Borussia Dortmund star needs — a chance to rediscover the confidence and creativity that once made him one of Europe’s hottest young talents.
For Chelsea, the focus will now shift to finding more consistent, dynamic options out wide — especially players who can thrive in Maresca’s demanding tactical setup. As for Sancho, if the Turkish giants firm up their interest, his next stop could be Istanbul.
