Manchester City failed to beat Southampton on Saturday, thus throwing the top five race wide open with two games to go after this weekend round of matches.

Manchester City missed a huge opportunity to all but secure Champions League football for next season when they were held to a goalless draw at relegated Southampton.

City couldn’t find a way past a resolute Saints side who celebrated at the final whistle as the point moved them past the record low for a Premier League season of 11.

City will slip a place in the table if there is a winner in the Newcastle United vs Chelsea game on Sunday afternoon.

A win for Chelsea at St James Park will see Chelsea climb from 5th place to third, with two games to go.

Can the Blues take advantage of City’s slip and even march on to a top three finish?
