As Chelsea prepare to host Everton at Stamford Bridge, Toffees manager David Moyes is keeping a realistic but optimistic view about his side’s chances. Moyes openly admits that while the challenge ahead is tough, he believes his team can make something happen.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Moyes acknowledged the Blues’ strength at home. “Their home record is good and actually we’ve not got a great record going to Stamford Bridge over the years either, so from that point of view we know we’re up for a tough game,” he admitted.

It’s no secret that Stamford Bridge has been a fortress for Chelsea this season, with the Blues turning on the style in front of their fans. For Everton, history isn’t particularly kind when it comes to trips to West London, and Moyes is clearly aware of the task his players face.

However, recent performances have given the Everton boss reason to believe his team could spring a surprise. “Against Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, I think we’ve done very well and this period of games has been a difficult one,” Moyes pointed out, highlighting their strong displays against other Premier League heavyweights.

Despite the odds, Moyes insists he’s heading into the match with a positive mindset. “I go in there with real confidence and belief that we can go and try to make something happen again,” he stated.

While Everton’s confidence is admirable, Chelsea fans will trust in their team’s home dominance to maintain their momentum. If anything, Moyes’ comments only reinforce how tough and intimidating Stamford Bridge remains for visiting teams.
