Enzo Maresca has given the clearest indication yet that he’s lost patience with Chelsea star Christopher Nkunku, after explaining why the player was left out of the squad for the win against Fulham.

Chelsea won 2-1 at Fulham on Sunday afternoon without Nkunku even making the bench for the Blues.

Revealing why the Frenchman didn’t make the matchday squad, Maresca said: “It’s just a technical decision. No injury, just my decision.”

Nkunku has scored just two goals in his last 21 appearances for the Blues and Maresca’s explanation for his absence against Fulham suggests the Chelsea head coach isn’t happy with Nkunku’s performances.

With Nkunku’s future at the club already in doubt, it now appears almost certain that Chelsea will part ways with the 27-year-old this summer after two disappointing seasons at Stamford Bridge.
