Chelsea were surprisingly beaten at home to Legia Warsaw in the Conference League clash on Thursday night.

The Blues lost the game 2-1, although the 3-0 victory in Poland ensured an aggregate victory for Chelsea.

Enzo Maresca rested some of his key players against Legia, and the Blues boss spoke about the importance of having rested his players on Thursday even if it meant losing the game.

He said: “We rest Enzo (Fernandez), Moi (Caicedo), Levi (Colwill), Noni (Madueke, Pedro (Neto), we rest many players.

“We are, for sure, not happy about the Conference League result, but at the same time, we try to manage a little bit and rotate players.”

This guy Enzo Maresca is a championship coach and not yet a Premiership coach.. he has a long way to go.. Chelsea hierarchy must understand this fact that you can use a championship coach to get the results of an elite.. no disrespect but this is true..
