I don’t think Osimhen will go to Chelsea – Transfer expert reveals major problem holding the deal

As the summer transfer window approaches, Chelsea continue to be linked with a host of attacking reinforcements, and one name that keeps popping up is Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen, who has spent the season on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has been in scintillating form, scoring 21 goals in 23 Turkish Super Lig appearances. His prolific scoring record has made him one of the most sought-after forwards in world football, and naturally, Chelsea fans have been dreaming of seeing him lead the line at Stamford Bridge next season.

However, the Blues may face a major stumbling block in their pursuit of the 26-year-old.

According to renowned journalist David Ornstein of The Athletic, Osimhen’s wage demands could prove to be a major problem for Chelsea – and possibly other Premier League clubs.

“I’m not sure Osimhen’s salary would work for Chelsea and other potential suitors,” Ornstein wrote.

“With quite a few people you speak to in the Premier League predicting he will end up in Saudi Arabia.”

The suggestion that Osimhen could move to the Saudi Pro League instead of the Premier League is a blow for Chelsea, who are in desperate need of a consistent goal-scorer. Despite some promising signs from Nicolas Jackson this season, the Blues have struggled for attacking consistency, and Osimhen’s elite goal record would undoubtedly be a game-changer.

Yet, financial constraints and FFP considerations may force Chelsea to look elsewhere, especially if a bidding war with Saudi clubs – known for their lucrative offers – emerges.

For now, Osimhen’s future remains up in the air. But if Ornstein’s sources are to be believed, Chelsea fans may have to temper their expectations.

One thing is clear: if the Blues are to challenge for major honours next season, finding the right striker will be key – whether that’s Osimhen or someone else entirely.
