Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo believes there are encouraging signs to take from the Blues’ goalless draw against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium over the weekend.

While the result was frustrating for many Chelsea fans hoping to see the team bounce back with a win, Adarabioyo chose to focus on the positives — particularly the resilience shown in defence.

“It’s a tough place to come to, so to come away with a clean sheet and a point is a positive that we can take,” the centre-back told club media after the match.

Brentford’s attacking threat, led by Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa, has troubled Premier League sides all season. Adarabioyo was quick to acknowledge their quality, describing them as a “very dynamic duo” and highlighting the intensity of their style.

“Those two [Bryan Mbeumo & Yoane Wissa] are a very dynamic duo. They attack you and attack you hard and fast,” Tosin noted.

But it wasn’t just praise for the opposition. The former Fulham defender was also proud of how Chelsea coped under pressure, especially in moments when Brentford broke quickly and committed bodies forward.

“But I felt we dealt with those combinations. They put 11 men behind the ball and they attacked fast, but we dealt with it well,” he added.

For Chelsea fans, the three points should have been the target for a club like Chelsea.
