After a frustrating 0-0 draw against Brentford, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca faced the press—and gave a clear message to fans: the Champions League remains firmly in sight.

When asked how vital it is for Chelsea to secure a Champions League spot, Maresca didn’t flinch. “Since day one, since we started, we have been there,” he said, confidently referring to the Blues’ presence in the top five throughout the campaign. “Always top four, top five. For part of the season, we were second. So I think since day one we are there and hopefully we can finish there.”

It’s the kind of assured statement Blues fans will want to hear—especially after a result that felt more like two points dropped than one gained. The team showed flashes of brilliance, but lacked quality to score.

Despite the hiccup, Chelsea remain in the top four. However, the pressure is building. Manchester City are just a point behind, while Newcastle would leapfrog the Blues if they beat Leicester on Monday night and at least draw their game in hand.

What’s clear is that Maresca believes in his team—and he’s not shying away from expectations. “Hopefully we can finish there,” he said. It’s no longer just about rebuilding. It’s about returning to Europe’s elite.

And if Maresca’s words are anything to go by, he sees Chelsea finishing the season exactly where they belong: in a Champions League spot.
