Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca decided to rotate his squad for the London derby against Brentford.

The Blues boss dropped key figures like Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson, Levi Colwill, Pedro Neto and even Marc Cucurella.

See the team below

Chelsea starting XI: Sanchez; James, Tosin, Chalobah, Gusto; Caicedo, Dewsbury-Hall; Madueke, Fernandez, Sancho, Nkunku.

Subs: Jorgensen, Acheampong, Badiashile, Colwill, Cucurella, Palmer, Neto, George, Jackson.

With the Conference League in view, we can only hope this decision doesn’t backfire.

Enzo Maresca has defended his decision to bench Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson in Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Brentford.

“It’s just the game plan,” the boss explained.

“The ones that are going to start I think are going to be the right ones.

“Also because we have players back from injury, so two games in 48-72 hours is not the best thing to do after a long time [out] and we try to manage it a little bit.”
