Chelsea Assert Dominance Yet Again Over Spurs to Climb into Top Four

Chelsea fans were treated to another memorable night at Stamford Bridge as the Blues edged out rivals Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in a tense Premier League showdown on Thursday night.

The result not only strengthened Chelsea’s dominance over Spurs but also propelled Enzo Maresca’s side back into the top four — a position that seemed out of reach just weeks ago.

The only goal of the game came early in the second half, with Enzo Fernandez rising to meet Cole Palmer’s pinpoint cross and steering a powerful header past Guglielmo Vicario. It was a moment of class from two of Chelsea’s standout performers this season, and it proved enough to separate the sides.

Both teams had goals ruled out by VAR — a reminder of how fine the margins were on the night — but it was Chelsea’s composure and game management that ultimately saw them through.

For Tottenham, it’s yet another setback. Ange Postecoglou’s side are now winless in their last four matches and languish in a disappointing 14th place. The pressure is beginning to mount on the Australian boss as Spurs’ early-season optimism continues to unravel.

In contrast, Chelsea’s revival under Maresca continues to gather steam. The win lifts the Blues above both Newcastle United and reigning champions Manchester City, who now sit fifth. It’s a statement of intent — Chelsea aren’t just fighting for a European place anymore, they’re firmly in the conversation for a Champions League return.

Perhaps most satisfying for Chelsea fans is how routine beating Tottenham has become. Whether at home or away, the Blues seem to have the edge in this fierce London rivalry. Tonight’s win was just another chapter in that ongoing dominance.

With momentum on their side and key players hitting top form, Chelsea’s season is very much alive. And if nights like this continue, who knows how high Chelsea can climb?

Up the Chels!
