Chelsea have faced several challenges over the past two months, with a number of key players sidelined due to injuries. However, there’s now reason for optimism at Stamford Bridge as Enzo Maresca reveals that the majority of his squad is finally back to full fitness following the international break.
Enzo Maresca is no doubt relieved as the Blues see the return of Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, and Nicolas Jackson, all of whom have recovered from their respective injuries.
“Cole [Palmer] is back, he’s okay. He’s better,” Maresca said during a recent press conference. “Noni [Madueke] is better. Nico [Jackson] is better. They are all good. Very good. We’ve said many times, it is a game for players and when they are not there, you struggle. This has happened with us this season. Now it is good to finish with all of them.”
This marks a huge boost for Chelsea, who have been missing the attacking trio for several weeks, struggling to maintain their offensive threat without them. With Palmer, Madueke, and Jackson now fit and available, the Blues are hopeful that their attack will regain its sharpness and potency in the coming matches.
Unfortunately, there was a slight setback in the recovery of Romeo Lavia. “He was doing better in terms of progress but unfortunately one or two days ago he had a small problem, so we will see in the next hours,” Maresca shared, leaving the midfielder’s status uncertain for the time being.
As it stands, the only remaining absentee for Chelsea is Marc Guiu, who has been sidelined for a couple of months.
With the return of these key players, Chelsea fans are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to see a fully fit squad take the field and build some much-needed momentum for the rest of the season.
