Revealed: Chelsea’s plan for Kendry Paez

Chelsea have reportedly decided not to send Kendry Paez on loan to sister club Strasbourg this summer.

Instead, the club will give the talented 17-year-old the opportunity to impress ahead of the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

Earlier reports from French outlet L’Equipe had suggested that Paez, who joined Chelsea in a high-profile move, might be loaned out to Strasbourg next season. However, according to Teradeportes, the midfielder’s representatives have swiftly rejected those rumours, confirming that Paez will not be leaving on loan.

Instead, Paez will remain with Chelsea to try and catch the eye of head coach Enzo Maresca. The young star will be part of the squad travelling to the United States for the FIFA Club World Cup, although, for now, his role will be limited to training with the first team.

Maresca will make a final decision closer to the tournament about whether Paez will be included in the squad for the competition.

This decision highlights Chelsea’s commitment to developing their young talent and giving Paez the chance to prove his worth in the coming months.
