Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has received another major boost ahead of next week’s crucial clash against Tottenham, with key attackers Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke returning to training on Friday.
Palmer was absent for the Blues’ narrow 1-0 defeat to Arsenal due to a hamstring injury and also missed England’s recent international fixtures. The 22-year-old, Chelsea’s top scorer this season with 14 goals, had also been battling an illness before his muscle setback.
Madueke, 23, has been sidelined with a thigh issue, forcing him to miss Chelsea’s last six matches across all competitions. However, his return to training suggests he could be in contention for the London derby against Tottenham.
Another positive sight for Chelsea fans was Nicolas Jackson back on the Cobham training pitch. The 23-year-old forward, who has been out for three months with a thigh problem, was spotted in training for the first time earlier this week and continued his recovery on Friday.
With Palmer, Madueke, and Jackson all making significant progress, there is optimism that the trio could play a role against Spurs on Thursday. Chelsea will be eager to bounce back from their recent derby disappointment against Arsenal and reignite their push for European qualification.
Stay tuned for more updates as Maresca prepares his squad for this massive showdown against Spurs.
