Chelsea loanee Djordje Petrovic has reflected on his development this season at Strasbourg, admitting that his game has improved significantly since moving to Ligue 1.
The Serbian shot-stopper, who has made 23 appearances for the French side, believes he has become a more well-rounded goalkeeper, thanks to the playing style and coaching he has experienced in France.
“I’ve become a more complete goalkeeper than before I came to Strasbourg,” Petrovic told reporters.
Under the guidance of Strasbourg’s coaching staff, Petrovic has been encouraged to play with the ball at his feet and take more risks—an approach that has enhanced his technical and tactical abilities.
“The coach encourages us a lot to play with the ball and take risks. It’s a lot of detail and concentration,” he explained.
The 24-year-old also credited the Strasbourg staff for helping him grow in confidence throughout the campaign.
“It also comes from the staff who give us a lot of confidence,” he added.
While Petrovic remains a Chelsea player, his time in France appears to be shaping him into a more polished and confident goalkeeper—something that could benefit the Blues in the future.
