
Chelsea legend John Terry has opened up about the immense impact Didier Drogba had on his career, revealing how training against the Ivorian striker every day made Premier League matches feel much easier.
Speaking about his experience facing Drogba at Cobham, Terry explained how the relentless intensity of the Ivorian’s game helped sharpen his defensive skills.
“I said this recently actually, playing against Didier in training Monday to Friday meant going into games on a Saturday felt quite easy because I had been playing against such a high level,” Terry shared.
“And every day he was at it, he was always at 100 per cent.”
Drogba, widely regarded as one of Chelsea’s greatest-ever strikers, made 381 appearances for the club, scoring 164 goals and providing 78 assists. His physicality, technical brilliance, and winning mentality played a crucial role in Chelsea’s dominance during his time at Stamford Bridge.
