Palmeiras’ teenage sensation Estêvão Willian has opened up about his excitement and nerves as he prepares to join Chelsea this summer.

The Blues secured the signing of Estêvão in June 2024 for an initial €34 million ($37m), with performance-related add-ons potentially pushing the deal to €67m.

The 17-year-old, who turns 18 on April 24, is set to arrive at Stamford Bridge in July after competing with Palmeiras at the FIFA Club World Cup.

Speaking on the Denílson Show, Estêvão admitted he is eagerly awaiting his move to Chelsea.

“All the time, I’m very anxious to go,” he said when asked about joining the Blues.

The young Brazilian, who was recently included in Brazil’s squad for this month’s World Cup qualifiers, is using the international break to seek advice from fellow Premier League-based Brazilians.

“And they come and talk to me, give me tips,” Estêvão revealed. “Murillo [Nottingham Forest], Savinho [Manchester City] … I ask them how this is, how that is. These things are important for getting there to have less difficulty in adapting.”

Despite earning four caps for Brazil since making his senior debut in September, Estêvão did not feature in last week’s 2-1 win against Colombia or Tuesday’s 4-1 loss to Argentina.

At club level, the highly-rated winger has been in sensational form for Palmeiras, scoring five goals in 13 appearances this season. Last season, he was the third top scorer in the Brazilian Serie A, netting an impressive 13 goals.

With his Chelsea move drawing closer, Blues fans will be eager to see how Estêvão adapts to English football. If his performances in Brazil are anything to go by, he could be another South American gem ready to shine at Stamford Bridge.
