Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy has called on his former club to make a move for Aaron Ramsdale, insisting that the Southampton shot-stopper would be a major upgrade on Chelsea’s current goalkeeping options.
Cundy has voiced his concerns over the Blues’ issues between the sticks this season, pointing to costly mistakes and goals conceded as a recurring problem. He believes Ramsdale would offer a solution and improve the team’s defensive solidity.
“I would definitely have Aaron Ramsdale at Chelsea. That’s an improvement. Clearly, the goalkeeper situation has been a bit of a disaster. There’s been a lot of goals and mistakes,” Cundy stated.
Chelsea currently have Robert Sánchez and Filip Jørgensen as their senior goalkeepers, but neither has managed to establish themselves as a reliable first-choice option.
