Todd Boehly reveals what could make Chelsea owners separate

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has opened up about the club’s ownership structure, making it clear that if there is no agreement among the investors regarding the proposed stadium redevelopment, a split could be on the cards.

Speaking about the situation, Boehly downplayed the speculation surrounding the club’s ownership but acknowledged that alignment on the stadium project is crucial.

“I think the status quo is just fine. We have learned from each other, and I think we are going to be able to work it out any which way,” Boehly said.

However, he highlighted the significance of long-term planning for Chelsea’s future, particularly regarding the stadium project.

“We have to think about long term what we are trying to accomplish. We have a big stadium development opportunity that we have to flesh out, and I think that’s where we either align or ultimately decide to go our different ways.”

Despite the reports of internal tensions, Boehly insisted that much of the speculation has been exaggerated.

“But what has been written and talked about has much more drama than what has actually happened,” he added.

While Chelsea’s owners have so far maintained a united front, it’s clear that the future of the club’s stadium plans will play a pivotal role in determining their long-term partnership.
