Christopher Nkunku is edging closer to a Chelsea departure this summer after failing to rediscover his best form despite being given extended opportunities in the squad, according to GiveMeSport.

The French forward, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from RB Leipzig for £52 million in June 2023, has struggled to make a lasting impact in a Chelsea shirt. While injuries hampered his debut season, his recent opportunities—particularly during Nicolas Jackson’s absence—have not been enough to convince Enzo Maresca that he deserves a key role in the team.

According to reports, Chelsea are now open to parting ways with Nkunku, as the club feels “he may need a fresh start elsewhere to regain his top form.” With four years left on his £195,000-per-week contract, the Blues are expected to “listen to offers that match their valuation” in the upcoming transfer window.

Transfermarkt currently value Nkunku at €45 million, meaning Chelsea may need to make a tough call on whether to cut their losses or continue investing in the 26-year-old’s potential.

Despite his struggles, Nkunku has still managed to contribute with 12 goals and 5 assists in 36 matches for Chelsea this season. However, with Maresca looking to reshape his attack, the Frenchman’s future in West London remains uncertain.
