Kendry Paez, the highly-rated Ecuadorian talent set to officially join Chelsea this summer, will primarily operate in midfield rather than in a wide role, according to The Athletic.

The 17-year-old, whose move from Independiente del Valle was secured in 2023 when he was just 16, is expected to develop as an understudy and support for Enzo Fernandez in Chelsea’s central midfield.
