Chelsea legend John Terry has identified Cole Palmer as the fittest player at the club after watching the 22-year-old put in an outstanding display during a recent training session.
Terry was particularly impressed by Palmer’s dominance in a bleep test at Chelsea’s training ground, where the midfielder finished comfortably ahead of the rest of the squad.
He said: “I was at Chelsea the other day and they were doing a bleep test, he won it by a mile. In terms of fitness levels and the power, he looks quite skinny, but very strong.”
Beyond his physical endurance, Palmer’s technical ability also stood out to Terry, who highlighted the former Manchester City star’s intelligence and composure on the ball.
“Takes the ball on the half-turn, really quick as well. Impossible to play against. It seems to be too easy for him at times.”
Palmer has been a revelation for Chelsea this season, playing a crucial role in the team’s attack and consistently producing moments of magic in the final third. Terry believes his reading of the game sets him apart from his peers.
He concluded: “He strolls through games a little bit but he’s so far ahead of everyone else in terms of the way he sees the game. He always plays that forward pass. He’s never looking for the simple one.”
Palmer’s influence at Chelsea continues to grow, and with Terry’s endorsement, it’s clear the Blues have a special talent on their hands.
