Chelsea’s young midfielder Omari Kellyman has suffered a devastating injury setback, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.

The 19-year-old had only just returned from a five-month layoff due to a hamstring issue but reinjured himself during the Development Squad’s recent victory over Norwich City.

Kellyman was visibly distraught as he limped off the pitch, and later took to Instagram to share his disappointment.

“Beyond gutted to say that this season has come to an early end for me due to a reinjury of my hamstring,” he wrote.

Kellyman arrived at Chelsea from Aston Villa last summer in a £19 million deal, but his debut season at Stamford Bridge has been severely disrupted by injuries. He has made just three appearances for the Development Squad in Premier League 2 and is still awaiting his first senior appearance for the Blues.

Despite the frustration, Kellyman remains determined to bounce back stronger.

“It’s important now that I take time to get this right and come out the other side stronger and better ready for what next season brings,” he added.

While this injury is a major blow, Chelsea fans will be hoping the talented midfielder can recover fully and make a fresh impact next season.
