Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey was fortunate to avoid a red card during the first half of Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The Ghanaian was overly aggressive while pressing for the ball and ended up stamping on Pedro Neto’s foot, leaving the Chelsea winger in clear agony on the ground.

Despite the severity of the challenge, the referee did not even brandish a yellow card, and VAR showed no intention of intervening. Partey escaped without punishment, in what appeared to be a major let-off for Arsenal in a crucial Premier League clash.

Chelsea fans and players were left frustrated by the decision, especially given how the game unfolded. With the Blues struggling in the top-four race, moments like these could prove costly in their pursuit of Champions League qualification.
