Following Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, Moises Caicedo remained optimistic about the team’s progress and their ambitions for the season.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Ecuadorian midfielder defended Chelsea’s performance and reiterated their goal of securing a top-four finish.

“The team is good, the team is working hard to win the games.

“We want to show character, we want to play our best football and we want to win games like this.

“We want to play Champions League football next season. The teams are close but we are just focused on ourselves because that is the most important thing. Champions League football is our target.”

Despite the defeat, Chelsea remain in fourth place in the Premier League table. However, their position is under threat, as Newcastle United could leapfrog them if they win their game in hand.

With the international break ahead, Chelsea must regroup and prepare for the crucial run-in as they fight to secure a Champions League spot.
