Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca endured a frustrating evening as his side fell to a 1-0 defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

However, adding insult to injury, Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber appeared to mock Maresca with a disrespectful remark.

Towards the end of the game, Timber exchanged words with the Chelsea boss and was heard saying, “Try harder.” While the Dutchman later shook Maresca’s hand, the comment did not go unnoticed and came across as a dig at Chelsea’s struggles.

This result extended Chelsea’s winless run against Arsenal in the Premier League to seven matches and marked their fourth consecutive defeat at the Emirates. With the Blues faltering in the top-four race, Maresca and his team will need to respond strongly after the international break.
