Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca confirmed that Cole Palmer missed Sunday’s Premier League clash against Arsenal due to injury.

The Blues suffered a 1-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium, and Palmer’s absence was a significant blow to their attacking threat.

Speaking before the match, Maresca provided an update on Palmer’s condition, expressing optimism that the midfielder would return after the international break.

“He had, or as we knew, last week some problems. And unfortunately, yesterday he had a very small problem. We think, after the international break, he will be back with us.

“He had an injury yesterday during the session. It was a very light session. That’s why we think it is nothing important. But we wait and the feeling is he will be back after the next international break,” Maresca explained.

With Chelsea struggling in attack against Arsenal, they will hope Palmer makes a swift recovery to boost their top-four ambitions after the break.
