Former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has looked back on his single season in charge at Stamford Bridge, insisting that he views the experience in a positive light despite his departure.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Pochettino said: “It was a good season for us, to change the dynamic, to put the team again in a position to play Europe.”

After a challenging start to the campaign, Pochettino guided Chelsea to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League, securing a Conference League spot.

However, the Chelsea hierarchy deemed that return insufficient and decided to part ways with the Argentine in favour of Enzo Maresca.

Despite the abrupt exit, Pochettino remained diplomatic about his departure.

He said: “For different reasons, we split. We’re happy with the experience.”

While his tenure at Chelsea was brief, Pochettino left with a sense of accomplishment, believing he had helped steer the club back towards European football.
