Chelsea are reportedly reconsidering their decision to sign Jadon Sancho permanently, with the possibility of paying a penalty to send him back to Manchester United.

Sancho, who arrived at Stamford Bridge on loan from United with an option to buy, started brightly but has since struggled to maintain his form.

According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea had agreed to a £22-25 million deal to make his move permanent. However, with his performances declining, the Blues are now exploring ways to back out of the agreement.

This decision could come at a cost, as Chelsea may need to pay a significant fee to terminate the deal early. If they opt against signing him, Sancho will return to Old Trafford at the end of the season—though his future at Manchester United remains uncertain.
