Chelsea star Cole Palmer is experiencing a dip in form, but pundits on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club firmly believe he will soon return to his best.
Reflecting on Palmer’s recent struggles, former Premier League goalkeeper Shay Given acknowledged that the youngster is facing a rare challenge in his otherwise impressive Chelsea career.
“It shows he is human because his time at Chelsea has mainly been on an upward trajectory,” Given stated.
After making a flying start at Stamford Bridge, Palmer has seen a slight drop in confidence, leading to questions about his current form. However, Given is confident that the 22-year-old will rediscover his rhythm.
“He has gone through a bit of a dip, there is no way of getting away from that, and his confidence is low.”
Despite this rough patch, the former goalkeeper sees no reason for concern, backing Palmer to respond in style.
“It is a rough patch but I have no doubt that he will come back with vengeance because he is a brilliant player.”
With Chelsea pushing for a strong finish to the season, fans will be hoping Palmer quickly regains his best form and delivers the performances that made him a standout player earlier in the campaign.
