Jadon Sancho has shrugged off concerns about Cole Palmer’s form, expressing full confidence in his Chelsea teammate despite his recent goal drought and missed penalty against Leicester City.

“It’s just a little phase, I’m not worried about Cole Palmer. The lads are behind him,” Sancho said after Chelsea’s 1-0 win.

Palmer, who had never missed a penalty before in his career, failed to convert from the spot in the match. However, Sancho remains unfazed.

“He missed a penalty but so what? We know he will score his next penalty – that’s football. Cole is a great player and will be back.”

After the game, Enzo Maresca revealed that Palmer had not been in top physical condition leading up to the match, missing training on Saturday. Despite this, he still played and contributed to Chelsea’s win.

With key fixtures coming up, Chelsea will be hoping Palmer regains his sharpness soon, as they continue their push for success in both domestic and European competitions.
