Chelsea winger Jadon Sancho has expressed his joy at being part of the squad, crediting manager Enzo Maresca for fostering a strong team spirit at Stamford Bridge.
“I’m really delighted that I’m here, playing football here at Chelsea,” Sancho said, highlighting his satisfaction since joining the Blues on loan from Manchester United.
The 23-year-old has struggled for goal contributions in recent months, but his words suggest that the atmosphere within the squad remains positive.
“Maresca makes us feel at home. It’s not easy for players to say that. We’ve grown into one big family.”
Sancho’s remarks come in the wake of Chelsea’s crucial 1-0 victory over Leicester City, a result that pushed Chelsea into the Premier League’s top four. Despite the team’s progress, Sancho’s individual form remains a concern. His last goal came in the dramatic 4-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur on December 8, and he has registered just one assist in the last three months, setting up a goal against Crystal Palace in January.
Nonetheless, the winger remains upbeat about the camaraderie in the squad, emphasising the positive environment under Maresca.
“The lads are very good and every day is a fun day.”
With the season entering its decisive phase, Sancho will need to turn his encouraging performances into tangible goal contributions if he hopes to solidify his place in the team beyond this campaign.
