Jadon Sancho has admitted his frustration over his continued struggles in front of goal for Chelsea after failing to find the net in the 1-0 win against Leicester City at the weekend.

Despite Chelsea securing an important victory that propelled them into the Premier League’s top four, Sancho’s personal form remains a concern, as he extended his goal drought to 16 games. The last time the 24-year-old winger scored for the Blues was on December 8, during a thrilling 4-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur. Since then, he has contributed just a single assist – against Crystal Palace in January – marking only one goal involvement in the past three months.

Speaking to Chelsea’s in-house media, Sancho opened up about his struggles, admitting that his lack of goals has been difficult to deal with.

“I know I can do better, especially in front of goal. It’s kind of annoying not to score. But I know it will come, [I] just have to take time and be patient.”

Sancho, who joined Chelsea on loan from Manchester United last summer, has registered two goals and six assists in all competitions for the Blues this season. While his creativity and dribbling remain valuable assets, his lack of end product has been a point of frustration for both himself and Chelsea fans.

However, Enzo Maresca continues to back the Englishman, trusting that his performances will improve as Chelsea push to secure Champions League football next season. With several crucial fixtures ahead, Sancho will be eager to end his barren run and make a decisive impact for the team.

Can he rediscover his goalscoring touch before the end of the season? Chelsea fans will certainly hope so.
