Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has stressed the importance of every game as the Blues push for a Champions League spot ahead of their clash with Leicester City.

“From this moment until the end of the season, every match is decisive. It’s important to understand that every win at this stage can bring us closer to the Champions League spots — whether it’s the top four or the top five,” Maresca said.

Chelsea remain in the hunt for a European place but must navigate a tricky fixture against Leicester, who are battling at the other end of the table. The Foxes are fighting for survival, something Maresca believes makes them even more dangerous.

“Right now, we’re fully focused on Leicester, but there are still many important matches ahead. Leicester will be a very difficult opponent for us. Every team are fighting for something, and those trying to avoid relegation might be even more desperate for points.

“But that doesn’t mean those competing for the top four or the title aren’t feeling the pressure. That’s why every match at this stage of the season is difficult, regardless of the opponent.”

Chelsea will be aiming to secure all three points in what promises to be a tense encounter. However, Maresca is under no illusions about the challenge ahead.

“We’re focused and ready for a tough game, and we hope to take all three points.”
