Cole Palmer may not have been on the scoresheet in Chelsea’s 2-1 win over FC Copenhagen, but he still managed to steal the spotlight with a hilarious moment that fans loved.
During the celebrations for Enzo Fernandez’s goal in the 65th minute, a plastic cup of beer was thrown onto the pitch by a fan. Palmer, instead of ignoring it, decided to have some fun.
The Englishman picked up the cup and jokingly showed it to Trevoh Chalobah, creating a moment that wasn’t fully caught on the TV broadcast.
“The glass did make it onto the broadcast, but you had to look closely to notice it. Palmer only appeared with it in his hands for a second. Before getting rid of it.”
Fans on social media were quick to react to Palmer’s playful celebration:
“Cole Palmer says: ‘Hold my beer’ or ‘Raise this beer high! You all deserve it! Congratulations.'”
While Chelsea celebrated their first-leg victory, Palmer’s cheeky moment provided an extra reason for Blues supporters to enjoy the night.
