Joao Felix has come under heavy fire from the Italian press following AC Milan’s recent slump, with the Chelsea loanee enduring a difficult spell at the club.

Milan’s back-to-back defeats against Bologna and Lazio have intensified scrutiny on Felix, whose performances have been widely criticised. In the loss to Bologna, he struggled to make an impact and was substituted for former Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic after just an hour.

Corriere della Sera rated his display a 4.5, calling him “the worst on the field.” Meanwhile, journalist Fabio Ravezzani was even harsher, stating that Felix is “as handsome as he is useless.”

Milan’s poor form has seen them drop to eighth in Serie A, now eight points off the Champions League places, adding further pressure on the Portuguese forward to deliver.

Back at Chelsea, head coach Enzo Maresca has dismissed any concerns over Felix’s absence, insisting that the club does not miss him.

With Felix failing to impress in Italy, questions remain over his long-term future, as Chelsea appear unlikely to reintegrate him when his loan spell at Milan comes to an end.
