Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen is enduring a tough start to life in the Premier League, with statistics ranking him as the lowest-rated shot-stopper in the division so far this season.

According to WhoScored, Jorgensen currently holds a 6.33 average match rating—the lowest among all goalkeepers in the 2024/25 campaign. While the 22-year-old has only recently taken over from Robert Sanchez as Chelsea’s starting keeper, he is still trying to find his footing in England’s top flight.

Jorgensen came under scrutiny during Chelsea’s recent 4-0 win over Southampton, where some fans at Stamford Bridge booed him for his reluctance to play long balls. However, head coach Enzo Maresca doubled down on his philosophy, warning Jorgensen that he would substitute him if he abandoned Chelsea’s short-passing build-up play.

Beyond his struggles with distribution, Jorgensen has also had shaky moments between the posts. His most notable error came in a costly mistake against Aston Villa, where a late blunder gifted Unai Emery’s side a crucial victory.

Despite his early struggles, Jorgensen still has time to adjust and prove himself as Chelsea’s long-term option in goal. However, with fans growing restless and the club needing consistency at the back, the pressure is mounting on the young Danish keeper to step up.
