Todd Boehly has called for greater unity among Premier League owners, citing the NFL as a model for effective governance. He praised the way NFL owners work together and how the league maximises the value of its content.

“If you look at what makes the NFL so special, it’s that the owners are in lockstep and the commissioner is very good at recognising how valuable the NFL content is,” Boehly said.

He believes the Premier League should adopt a similar approach. “The [Premier League] are figuring out how to get everyone to row simultaneously and really be pulling for each other.”

His comments suggest that Premier League clubs need to cooperate more on key financial and structural issues rather than focusing solely on their individual interests.
