Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has acknowledged the club’s difficulties in signing an elite striker, emphasising how rare top centre-forwards are in modern football.
“Strikers are hard to find,” Boehly admitted, defending Chelsea’s ongoing search for a reliable goal-scorer.
“You don’t go into the grocery store and say, ‘I am going to get a striker’. It is an amazing skillset and you have to have the right mentality.”
The Blues’ lack of depth in attack has been exposed following injuries to Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu, leaving the squad short of options.
With the summer transfer window approaching, Chelsea are expected to make another attempt to bring in a high-quality striker to strengthen their squad.
